The 9-day Rongai Route offers a remote and scenic ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side, near the Kenyan border. Known for its drier climate and gradual slopes, this route is ideal for trekkers seeking a quieter trail with excellent acclimatisation. The itinerary includes an extra acclimatisation day to improve summit success. Hikers pass through diverse landscapes—from farmlands and pine forest to moorland and alpine desert—before reaching the summit at Uhuru Peak (5,895 metres). Descent is via the Marangu Route on the mountain’s southern side, offering a rewarding contrast in scenery and a well-rounded Kilimanjaro trekking experience. Book 9-day Rongai Route with us
